First info:

I am definitely going to play a “Man of Mystery”. I just saw the Illusionist and am losely modeling my character after Edward Norton’s character there. At least visually.

Having grown up in England, the son of a aristocrat (Emlyn, I will give you something mildly historical once I find it), my character left Europe as a young man when WWI broke out, using his wealth and privilege to escape Europe and travel IndoChina and the Orient. There he studied ancient secrets of long forgotten science that some men would call magic. He traveled through what remained of Persia, gathering knowledge of poisons and potions. While there in Arabia he something happened. Something horrifying. When he returned to Europe, his friends and family could barely recognize him. There was a dark fury about him. He barely spoke a word shunning his friends, gathering a few keepsakes. He caught the next flight to America, saying only, “There is something I must do.”

Hmmm. That’s what I got for now. Perhaps he does stage magic shows, or just meets with the rich and famous as a conversational piece. Not sure. More fleshing out required.

Other Adventures: Tom Dooley and the Wonderous Flying Machine
When Tom Dooley found the strange fallen star that he built his rocket ship out of, he started to hear voices. Strange unearthly things. He brought it to renowned mystic Alexander Willoughby. Willoughby identified it as the shattered stone of a once ancient god. By now, an angry mob had formed around the Rocketship launch pad. Willoughby performed an elaborate vanish, allowing Tom Dooley to escape to the heavens to purify his strange moonstone.

Other aspects: All the World’s a Stage
Second Aspect: Glimpses of the Apocalypse.

Other Adventures: Jack Castleman and the African Volcano
While tracking down an ancient shaman in the center of the Safari, Willoughby was captured by Cannibals. There, hogtied over the cookpot, he met the dashingly handsome Jack Castleman who had been captured while trying to rescue a British magistrate’s daughter. Together they escaped and chased the cannibal chief to the Volcano. They cornered the chief with the daughter on a rope bridge over a pit of lava. Jack desperately tried to reason with insane chief in his own language. THE WRAITH, without pause, cut the bridge, causing the daughter and chief to tumble to their fiery deaths. Jack was furious and the two came to blows before parting ways.

Aspects: Heart of Stone, Pugilist.
