  • Absolute Time

    Absolute Time (abbr. AT): One of the dating systems used by travelers, measuring in years from the Big Bang (13,710,449,007 BCE). See [[Common Era]], [[Holocene]].

  • Time Orphan

    A [[Traveler]] whose [[timeline]] has been erased. Strictly speaking, all [[Traveler]]s are time orphans, but the title is usually conferred after the current [[timeline]] is significantly different than the orphan’s origin. See [[Traveler]], [[Timelost …

  • timeline

    Timeline: The whole of history, within the confines of a single [[tick]]. Also used to refer to a particular history, as in “Remember the timeline where Napoleon won at Waterloo?” See [[Tick]].

  • Crosstime

    Crosstime [n]: The entirety of all [[timeline|timelines]] in [[metatime]]. Crosstime [v]: The act of [[travel|traveling]] from one [[timeline]] to another. Crosstime [n]: The name of this RPG.

  • Deep Time

    A mission that will take a long time in the agents’ personal timeline, and thus requires a significant commitment.

  • Metatemporal History

    The history of metatime changes and all the various timelines. Also [[Metatemporal History|Metahistory]]. See [[Archivists]], [[Metatime]], [[Timeline]].

  • Metatime

    The second dimension of time, that measures when temporal changes occur with regards to each other. See [[Tick]].

  • Tick

    The smallest unit of metatime. Also used to refer to a particular timeline. See [[Metatime]], [[Timeline]].

  • Time clone

    A copy of a given person from another timeline. Usually reserved for those similar enough to be mistaken for each other. See [[Timeline]].

  • Tipping Point

    A space-time coordinate where the timeline can be significantly altered. Usually targeted for missions. See [[Mission Event]], [[Operative]], [[Timeline]].

  • Uptime

    The past, towards the Big Bang. Used to differentiate time within a timeline from a person’s personal history. See [[Downtime]], [[Timeline]].

  • Downtime

    The future, away from the Big Bang. Used to differentiate time within a timeline from a person’s personal history. See [[Timeline]], [[Uptime]].

  • Holocene

    Holocene (abbr. H): The Traveler human-era dating system, measuring in years from the end of the last Ice Age and the beginning of the Holocene Era -- 0 H is 9640 BCE. See [[Absolute Time]], [[Common Era]].

  • Common Era

    Common Era (abbr. CE and BCE): The human-era dating system used in RTL, measuring in years from the birth of Jeshua of Nazareth, commonly known as Jesus Christ. See [[Absolute Time]], [[Holocene]], [[RTL]].

  • HQ

    The space station that functions as OTL’s home. See [[OTL]].

  • SpaceTime

    Particular coordinates in x, y, z, t, and m coordinates. Can be precise to the inch, second, and Tick, or refer to a larger area, such as "20th century USA, RTL." See [[Metatime]], [[RTL]], [[Tick]], [[Timeline]].

  • Mission Event

    The particular task that a team or operative is to perform within a given timeline. Usually occurs at a tipping point. See [[Operative]], [[Tipping Point]].
